Community Partnership - Supporting Our Neighbors
As Cowrie is located in Cheyenne Wyoming, it is essential to our purpose that we provide support for our neighbors and participate in the wonderful programs that exist within the state.
Within the execution of Cowrie's Administrator Service offering for DUNAs, there is a step in the process where our CEO, David Kerr, reviews and signs the tax returns as an individual. Rather than taking compensation separate from Cowrie – the decision was made that the DUNA's would pay $1,000 per tax return year filed with a $1,000 match made by Cowrie for each donation.
Verification of each DUNA's donation and Cowrie's match will be included in the quarterly financial statements prepared by Cowrie to demonstrate that the donations are being made and properly accounted for in the documentation.
While we do intend to expand this list over time, the charities to receive donations include:

University of Wyoming Foundation
The University of Wyoming Foundation is a dedicated philanthropic partner to the state's only major public research university – consistently supporting impactful scholarships, faculty excellence and essential university programs.

Wyoming Community Foundation
The Wyoming Community Foundation (WYCF) provides an essential service in connecting donors and communities – facilitating a wide number of nonprofits within its expansive list of nonprofit agency fund holders.
Not only does the WYCF provide for the payment of local grants to benefit the community, it also provides a mechanism for direct contribution to a number of worthy funds by facilitating the collection and distribution of donations, including for donations made in crypto.

Equal Justice Wyoming Foundation
The Equal Justice Wyoming Foundation strengthens and defends access to justice and civil legal services in Wyoming through fundraising and other supportive activities.
Providing grants to civil legal service providers and supporting efforts, the Equal Justice Wyoming Foundation works closely with a number of organizations to provide pro bono legal services and legal representation to low-income families and individuals.
Feeding America
The Feeding America network of food banks provides food to millions of people every year, having distributed nearly 5.2 billion meals last year alone. In addition to its food access programs, Feeding America provides a number of services focused on ending hunger, including developing solutions around food insecurity, disaster response, and working with food companies and farmers to utilize food that would otherwise have gone to waste.
